Our Easter festivities began the Saturday week before Easter with a trip to the Easter Bunny. Kendal has bested her fear of said bunny, but Mason only got about 15 feet at the closest. The local mall has this event, and people are encouraged to bring a food-shelf donation, otherwise it's free. They got tons of treats, made a cute egg magnet craft, Kendal got her face painted (next year, Mason), and got balloon animals. Pretty good for a rinky-dink mall.
Then on the Saturday before Easter we decorated Easter eggs. Always a fun tradition. Messy, but fun. And Mason LOVES hard-boiled eggs!
And finally on Easter Sunday, Kendal and Mason got up and looked for their Easter baskets that were hidden by that tricky Easter Bunny. Kendal's was in a bag in the vacuum closet, and Mason's was behind the tv. Kendal got a special new "big girl" scooter in her basket, and Mason got an assortment of goodies. And, of course, plenty of candy!
Then after Kendal and I went to church, we all headed over to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Frank's for a delicious Easter brunch! They went all out this year, as usual, and we were all stuffed! After that we had an Easter egg hunt OUTSIDE!!! It was such a beautiful day! (click on a photo to enlarge)
Definitely a wonderful day to celebrate the miracle of Easter! We all have renewed Easter hearts (and maybe a desire to start fishing again soon!)
